When you hear "engineering" or "research", you may find that there is no room for your intention or feeling to enter.
However, the idea of "what kind of research is done" or "I want to help someone in this research" is born out of "feelings and experiences that make up that person".
If you like your own research, you will not give up. If you do not give up, skills will surely improve with time. I want to make my research really useful, the purpose is clear. If the purpose is clear, logical thinking will naturally acquire. In order to convince research collaborators, presentation skills will surely improve.
In the laboratory, we want you to fully enjoy "Doki Doki" from the start of research to the achievement.
Nishida laboratory is a laboratory with a very friendly atmosphere. Because I can use my time freely, I can combine my research and my hobbies.
Also, as many international students are enrolled, we can touch nature and English in our daily lives. People who are not good at English, it is important first to jump into that environment!
In that sense, Nishida laboratory thinks that it is a laboratory that can skill up both engineering and human beings.
Nishida Laboratory is a very free laboratory. You can select themes yourself, study them, and publish the results at various places.
But on the other hand it is responsible for our actions. It is a lot of fun to study freely, but at the same time it is hard work. Based on that, if you would like to try and train your skills, come and join us!
People who are uneasy about the ability of programming etc also feel at ease! Technical matters are supported by seniors. Anyway, I'll do something if there is motivation. We are waiting for those who are motivated!
Is it necessary to know how to program ?
If you can it is good but when you enter the laboratory you have plenty of time to study about it. It only depends of your willingness to learn.
In Professor Nishida's laboratory there are many members who mainly program in C/C++, Python and Matlab. However it is also possible to program in other languages. Programming skills are not that much important compared to electronic circuit design skill or mechanical design skills which are very welcomed.Do I need to prepare my personal computer for use in my laboratory?
You do not have to prepare. Each Nishida laboratory receives one desktop PC. Depending on the content of the research you can also use hundreds of thousands of PCs.
However, it may be more convenient to have My PC, such as when presenting a presentation.
How will the research contents be decided?
Basically, We will give a topic to make a graduation thesis and choose from that, but you can set it freely in seminar presentations and meetings with the teacher.
Is there a seminar?
There are seminars three times a week. I do not have my own annual presentation every week, but it is taking the form of rotation by member of the laboratory.
We will decide seminar day by checking with members' schedule every semester.
Can you work part-time?
Many people have a good balance between research and part-time job by firmly managing time.
The Nishida Laboratory always has electricity at night.
That is me!!
Please tell me about Nishida Laboratory's research facilities.
Broadly speaking,
Etc. There are plenty of facilities that I can not write here.
If there is anything else you would like to ask, please come to the Nishida lab directly.
