Virtual Reality / Mixed Reality

"Mix" the Real and the Virtual World

Virtual Reality

Virtual Reality is defined as follows: "a computer system used to create an artifical world in which the user has the impression of being included, and to manipulate objects in it with the ability to navigate through the world." In our laboratory, we use this technique for displaying 3-D motion capture data.

Mixed Reality

The concept of Mixed Reality is designed to overcome the disadvantages of current computer interfaces. By merging the real world and virtual worlds, and by providing a single interface to both worlds, we can use intuitive interfaces based upon real world experience and skills even in the virtual world.
